How does the PEMF PRO work?
 Tissue cells are tiny electrically charged machines. When traumatized, the cells' electrical charges are diminished. This causes normal cell functions to shut down. As the edema develops, chemical signals that cause inflammation are released, resulting in pain that further inhibits the cell communication necessary for healing to begin.
Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, or PEMF, treats the cellular source of edema by recharging the cells with a mild electromagnetic current. This stops the release of pain and inflammatory mediators, reduces inflammatory fluids and allows an increase in blood flow to help the cells heal faster with less swelling, pain and bruising.
PEMF is not new to medicine. PEMF has been used in various medical devices for more than 60 years for bone repair & growth, treatment of osteoarthritis, nerve stimulation, wound healing and others. These devices are large and only allowed for stationary single use treatments in a doctor's office, surgery center or hospital. The breakthrough is miniaturization.
